Group Head of Talent and HR
Location: CBD, Cape Town
About the Role:
You will work within the small team, focusing both on CEO-level talent for portfolio companies, as well as working within their portfolio companies to instill best practice
approaches to people development.
The role will include:
*Translating business objectives into organisational structures, competency requirements and people plans
*Managing a people and leadership development process, e.g., development goals, regular feedback processes
*Head-hunting and senior recruiting, and managing a structured talent pipeline, including building a database of top potential talent, and reviewing and structuring compensation
*Managing talent reviews and change processes for new investments or acquisitions
*Building the brand as an employer of choice
*Running internship programmes for high-potential but more junior candidates
*A small amount of HR paperwork management and administration, plus oversight of juniors
*Experience working in a related role in an environment with top talent, e.g., a top-tier PE, law, accounting, management consultancy firm or investment bank, or a leading customer-facing brand in the retail or services sector
*Relevant experience in both leadership development and recruiting
*A proven track record of personal, academic and professional achievement, and demonstrated leadership among your peers
*Entrepreneurial spirit, strong analytical skills and hands-on attitude – you should be ‘hungry’, excited by a fast-paced and unstructured environment, and keen to build incredible teams from a blank slate
*University-level qualification (in any discipline)
